Students had fun learning the attributes of expository text! Our targeted learning focus was Topic (Big Idea) and Details. Students used a magnetic wand to select a sentence strip and were required to decide if it was a Topic or Detail. Then they had to use their skills of classification. We all had a blast! Quiz Show was a fun way to learn.
Students have also been working on learning expository text structures which include: descriptive, list, sequence, cause/effect, problem/solution, persuade, and compare & contrast.
