It's Got to be the shoes!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE provide your student with proper athletic shoes for physical education class.  For your child to be SAFE, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, AND PRODUCTIVE they must wear athletic shoes that tie or are fastened by velcro.  Crocs, boots, sandels, flip-flops, slip ons, heels, Heelies, dress shoes, etc., are not appropriate.  Please help me help you keep your student safe and successful in PE this year.

Tenth Annual Sandburg Heart Run

On Friday, September 19th, the students of Sandburg will be participating in the Tenth Annual Heart Run. This is a mile walk/jog/run on the Dry Creek Trail located at Cherry Knolls Park across the street from Sandburg. The purpose of this activity is to encourage exercise and the impact it has on strengthening our heart for a long and healthy lifestyle.

 About Me Minimize

Hello.  I am Michael Rowe.  This is my sixth year teaching Physical Education and Bully Proofing at Carl Sandburg, and I am having a blast.

I have been teaching since 1998, after I graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Colorado State University (Go Rams!!!)  I have taught both elementary and high school, and I have to say, I enjoy the youngsters at Sandburg the most.

Besides teaching, I also coach baseball at Englewood High School.  This will be my third year as the head coach.  Before I moved to Englewood, I was an assistant at Littleton High School for nine seasons.   I also am currently in graduate school at the University of Colorado in Denver studying for a Master's in English as a Second Language.
