 Welcome to Miss Truman's Classroom

Welcome!  Second grade is a time for personal growth and moving towards independence. This year your child will work towards building long-lasting friendships, becoming role models, and learning the importance of responsibility. Throughout the year your child will work independently, with partners, and in small groups to enhance their learning potential.

The 2nd grade class has a very exciting year ahead of them. We will begin the year by working together to build a community. As we do this, I will stress how classrooms are communities and how important it is that everyone works together. Your child will also learn about the wonderful world of plants, dinosaurs, weather, and lights and shadows.  Throughout the year, your child will conduct experiments, problem solve, become meteorologists, and take on several more adventures.

You can expect to find homework assignments, spelling lists, upcoming events, and student work on this class website.

Ms. Truman's class gets things done!

The progress report found in the Home Folder needs to be signed and returned the next day.  The purpose of the Home Folder is to give you the opportunity to see what your child worked on in class, while the progress report is to keep you informed. Please feel free to leave comments, I would like to use this as a tool for communication.
