Sandburg's Library Media Center is staffed by a certified teacher, Mrs. Sally Tejan, and Mrs. Liz Mosley, our library clerk.
Mrs. Tejan is a teacher librarian who plans and team teaches with classroom teachers in the library and classroom to teach literature, research, technology skills and the information literacy curriculum to all Preschool -5th grade students.
Mrs. Tejan is assisted by over 40 parent and community volunteers who circulate and shelve about 30,000 materials each year, assist students with locating materials in Horizon (electronic card catalog),as well as online Databases like Sirs Periodical Index, Enchanted Learning, World Book Online, Brain Pop, and United Streaming. Mrs. Tejan and Mrs. Mosley also manage the purchasing, cataloging and processing of new materials.
Volunteers who work each morning and afternoon during school hours keep the Library Media Center running smoothly so that Mrs. Tejan is free to work directly with students and teachers.
If you are interested in being a Library Volunteer, please call Sally Tejan at 303-347-4694 or stejan@lps.k12.co.us. Our scheduling of volunteers is most flexible. Whatever amount of time you are comfortable giving to our library is much appreciated. Sandburg loves its library volunteers!
